In this How to will show you how to setup a custom style which could be used to format your OpenOffice documents.

 

How to setup a custom style template with OpenOffice 2.0

What will you learn within this how too? This how will show you how you can define custom styles which you could use within your OpenOffice documents.

Step 1:
Open a new textdocument or open a textfile for which you wish to add a custom style. Then right click into the "Styles and Formatting" window. If  this window isn't visible you can make it visible by clicking the Styles and Formatting toolbar button.

Use the toolbar button "Styles and "Formatting" to show the Styles and Formatting window.

Choose new in the Styles and Formatting window
Right click into the Styles and Formatting window and choose New.

Step 2:
The Paragraph Style window should appear. Here you shoud first enter a new name for the new custom style. e.g. MyCustomStyle. As you can from headlines of the tab pages you could manipulate resp. set every style within you custom style which is supported by the paragraph style. Let's set some style settings for our new style. Activate the tab Font and set font to Verdana, Typeface to bold and size to 14pt. At least click the Ok button to save you custom style

Step 3:
Now you see your custom style appear in the styles of the Styles and Formatting window. Now, it's ready to use within your documents. Activate your custom style by double cicking it and if you type some text it will be formatted with your custom style, now.
