Bugfixes of AODL errors
Written by Lars Behrmann
Tuesday, 02 May 2006

In the current AODL release are three bugs. The first occours when inserting two pictures with the same name from different folders then the last inserted picture will overwrite the first one. The second occours only if you use more then two instances of a IDocument implementation at the same time e.g. in multithreading apps, then the app could run into a conflic with the temp read and write folder. The third only occours while using AODL under mono on Linux machines. The file operations fails, because of a wrong path seperator.
The first and the second are fixed in the current CVS repository and could be checked out from the Sourceforge.net CVS modul. A compiled bugfix relase will follow the next days. The third is still inside the code base and will be fixed with the next version.

Result of the poll "Should Microsoft support OpenDocument"
Written by Lars Behrmann
Wednesday, 15 February 2006

After the poll "Should Microsoft support OpenDocument" was running about 1 1/2 month and 208 visitors have vote. I think I don't have be a Phd in mathematics specialized in statistics to say: Yes, if  83 percent think Microsoft should support the OpenDocument then it will happen. I couldn't say when, but I guess it will happen. At least one document format for all Office Suites is the best solution for all parties whether the are programmer or end user.

View the poll result here .

If you also wish that Microsoft should support the OpenDocument format. You can help the whole community and sign the petition to ask  Microsoft to support the OpenDocument format in MS Office. The initiatior of this pettion is the OpenDocument Fellowship organization. I am a member of the OpenDocument Fellowship and it would give us a great pleasure if you sign the petition. More information and the page where you can sign the petition could be found here .

AODL a .net resp. C# library for generating documents in the OpenDocument format which is the standard

by this release, so that I only will specify the highlights by this.
The main highlight of the new version is the support for documents in the OpenDocument spreadsheet format.
Other highlights by this relase are e.g. the image map support, the office script support, the flexible
handling of nested tables and the document print feature.
See the changelog for all changes.
